Gunner’s Great Garage is going to be a TV star. It all has
to do with Hot Rod High USA (www.hotrodhigh.usa) and Rescue 1 Fire Safety For
Kids (www.firesafetyforkids.org) teaming up on The First Hot Rod High USA
invitational car build.
Selected students will finish the partially-built car. Beyer
said that the partially completed hot rod will also be on display at the Iola
Old Car Show (www.iolaoldcarshow.com) in July. He is also planning to invite
WTEA members to bring students to a three-day event during the summer to select
car building team members.
“I’m looking to put together the best team in the state,”
Beyer explained. “It will be an opportunity to get involved in a project that
will generate great publicity and promotion for the students and your program.
The students will be working with some of the top car builders in the nation.”
Beyer’s is recommending students who are Juniors, so that
they can bring their experience back to each school when they return to classes
next year. “Seniors are not prohibited,” he added. “We want the vey best
students to be involved.”
Beyer asked the WTEA members to e-mail him at
info@hotrodhighusa.com to tell him the names of selected students. “I will get
back to you with additional information,” he promised. “In the meantime copy
our posters and put them up in your classroom.”
