The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association and Superformance LLC are teaming up this summer to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra. 2012 marks half a century since the very first Cobra was released on the street, and to celebrate the special occasion, Superformance will present a special “Snake Pit” at the Goodguys 15th PPG Nationals July 6-8 in Columbus, OH.
The special parking area will be held Saturday, July 7th from 7am to noon and is exclusive to Shelby Licensed Cobras. “Having the Shelby Cobra name associated with our biggest event of the year is a distinct pleasure,” said Goodguys President Marc Meadors. “For years, the Shelby Cobra has embodied performance and is truly a uniquely American hot rod.”
All participants who bring a Cobra to the Snake Pit will receive premier parking, a commemorative dash plaque and other goodies from Superformance. Goodguys will also select one car from the area to represent all Cobras’ in the 15th PPG Nationals awards ceremony.
Superformance, leading manufacturers of Shelby Cobra replica’s and other performance cars such as the GT40 and Corvette will have a major presence at the event. In addition to presenting the Snake Pit Superformance will have their display on the manufacturer’s midway. Superformance’s Todd Andrews said “Superformance participates with the Good Guys at this event and others throughout the year and thought that it would be great to celebrate this historic event with the enormous crowd of Car Enthusiasts that gather in Columbus”.
